Firelight Entertainment was established as "Abrasion Entertainment" in 1994. It began as a local independent movie company founded by Thomas Scott Layman of Richmond, Virginia. In 1995, Abrasion Entertainment purchased its first non-linear editing machine. Soon thereafter Abrasion Entertainment purchased it's first High Quality Video Camera. Though the camera wasn't digital, it did delivered outstanding picture quality. This camera was used on two local independent films, "Pandemonium"(1997) and Dumping Meg"(1998) 1999 was a great year for Abrasion Entertainment. After completing the movie "Dumping Meg" and the documentary "Standing by the Roanoke", Abrasion Entertainment purchased a new state of the art nonlinear editing machine and a Pro Digital Video Camera. These upgrades made Abrasion Entertainment a fully digital video company. Unlike most video companies in Richmond, Virginia, Firelight Entertainment was ahead of its time. In early 2000 Abrasion Entertainment was contracted by a local production company to do video and web services. After working professionaly in Richmond's video production industry for over 2 years, Abrasion Entertainment changed it's name to Firelight Entertainment in mid 2002 and went public, offering it's video, web, and other media services to Richmond and surrounding counties. Since 2002 we have grown greatly in knowlege, skill, and professionalism. We have created and produced many TV commercials and websites in and around Richmond. In 2005 Firelight Entertainment was contracted by InterActive Finacial Marketing Group to produce multiple training videos, commercials, and websites. On top of all these projects we still try to maintain some time to produce short independent films.
